About
I grew up in Northern New England where I first discovered the fascinations of the small moments in Maine coast flea markets and of the juxtaposition of untold stories in New Hampshire rummage sales. After studying art history and creative writing, I started to explore visual storytelling with image and word. I am a photographer, writer, digital storyteller, storytelling consultant, ecological gardener working from my Vermont studio when I’m not on the road in search of story. I also help communities all over the world bring storytelling to civic engagement efforts through my consulting business, Community Expressions, LLC. Previously I taught at Middlebury College where I pioneered the integration of digital storytelling in the liberal arts.
Artist Statement
With camera and pen, I search for the in-between, the edges and the overlooked spaces in the world. I seek out stories in the off-kilter and still moments just before or just after, those spaces where Almost resides. I am a finder, a scavenger of liminal spaces. On Cowbird, check out my text-image-audio storytelling.
Digital inkjet prints of all photos on this website are available, on a variety of fine papers, matted with acid free board.
